Sibling portrait

About 2 weeks ago an old friend of our family (we go waaaaaay back, before I was born) asked me if I could draw a portait of her children. I've tried to get it done between my job and preparing for christmas at home and yesterday I finally finished it! :)

 

The original picture. So cute. ^^ I wanted to draw the whole picture at first but then realized that it would be hard to see the details in their faces since it would only be a A4 size so I decided to "zoom in".

I hate scanning drawings I made with pencil and charcoal. It always looses some of the details, I think.

Portrait of my friends pet: Gaia.

A friend of mine (or my friends girlfriend) asked me if I could do a painting of her dog Gaia. Isn't she the sweetest thing!? ^_^ Look at those sweet eyes!

I used Letraset Cartridge Paper in size A4 and Promarkers with different nibs.

Popcorn Birthday Cake!

Made this birthday cake that looks like a bag of popcorn for my little brothers birthday. I'm really happy with the results! Turned out much better than I expected! :)

I just baked a double batch of cake batter and then divided the batter into two rectangular pans. After it was done in the oven, I just let it cool for a while and prepared the filling which consisted of vanilla-mousse, strawberry-mousse, strawberry jam and whipped cream. Cut away the top of each cake so that it would become more even on top. Then I cut each cake in half so I got 4 parts . (Cake, vanilla-mousse, cake, strawberry-mousse, cake, strawberry jam, cake, whipped cream). I used white marzipan and rolled it out so that it would fit the cake. For the stripes i used red sugar paste. At the front where the "popcorn" would be I took frosting and sprayed all along the edge.

The popcorn is made of mini-marshmallows that I cut in the middle and then put together again but at different angles so that it would look like popcorn. Put all the finished "popcorn" on plastic wrap and sprayed it with yellow, edible spray so it would look like butter. Then I just put them on the frosting. Done!

(Swedish) Birds in a tree drawing

I have decided that I want to put some of my favorite drawings in frames and hang them up in my room (up til now I've just put them in my storage bag (word please??) in my bookcase...)

A couple of months ago I made this sketch of two birds in a tree..

..and it's one of my favorites. But when I put it on the wall next to my Koi Fish painting it didn't really match and looked kind of boring. So I did a new one, but this time I made it with Promarkers from Letraset!

I'm still not 100% happy with it.. I don't like how the head of female (top brown one) turned out. I'll see if I do any changes later on but for now I'll just leave it as it is.

Happy Birthday, Mom!

This is a card I made for my mom's birthday (since she loves orchids and I couldn't find any pretty ones with orchids on them at the store). I made 2 of them, mostly because I wanted to try out different techniques on different kinds of paper. 

The first one is made with Letraset Aquamarkers and Louvre Aquarelle Watercolors. The paper is also from Louvre. It's 200x125 mm (8x5 inches) 300gsm.

The second one is a thinner kind of paper. It's Panduro Watercolor Quality Paper Pad. It's in size A4

and 180gsm.I found that this paper did not go well together with my Aquamarkers. It was really hard to blend out the marker and you could still see some of the lines so I ended up just using the markers on this one for details. Lesson learned. The thicker the paper is the better the Aquamarkers will work.

Volkswagen drawing

Made it for a friend of my mom. This was my first time drawing a car, and I wasn't really satisfied with the first one so I made a second one.

I think that the car blended together with the background to much in the first picture and also I wasn't really happy with color of the car, so here's the second one I made.

Eat Your Kimchi: Dr. Meemersworth aka Meemers portrait

Here's a portrait I've been working on for the last three days. 
It's a portrait of Meemers, Simon & Martina's scottish fold at EatYourKimchi when he was a young kitten. This is my second time drawing animals and my first time drawing a cat with my Promarkers.

So here's the situation..

..jag har tröttnat på att blogga. 

Dels för att det är mycket på jobbet just nu så när jag väl är ledig försöker jag vara utomhus så mycket som möjligt. Och dels så är det för att jag inte har något intressant att skriva om. Det händer inget intressant i mitt liv just nu.

Funderar på att göra om bloggen eller starta en ny som bara är till för min konst och där jag kan ta beställningar, för let''s face it. Det är bara när jag målat nått som jag egentligen updaterar. ^^ 

Jag har 5 veckors semester som jag inte utnyttjat än, så funderar på att kanske hälsa på min syster och hennes familj i Los Angeles i sep/okt. Får se om jag vågar åka över dit själv. Jag kan inte ens hitta in till stan själv så vet inte hur det skulle gå om jag ska åka över till en annan kontinent.. ;)

Ni lär väl märka om det blir några ändringar på bloggen.
